Blueberry Lime Mocktail

This mocktail was created from scratch after a not-so-great first attempt using a recipe that felt too bitter. Starting over gave us something better. Bright, gently sweet, and full of joy.

Blueberry Honey Base

Ingredients

  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 3 tablespoons honey

Instructions

Add blueberries, water, and honey to a small saucepan.

Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 5 minutes until the berries soften and release their juices.

Using a muddler or the flat end of a spoon, gently squash the blueberries in the pan to fully release the juice.

Remove from heat and strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer to remove the skins.

Set the blueberry juice aside and allow it to cool completely.

Mocktail Assembly

Per glass (4 oz glass used)

  • 3 tablespoons cooled blueberry honey juice
  • Ice
  • 1/2 cup seltzer water
  • 1/2 tablespoon fresh lime juice

Pour the cooled blueberry honey juice into the glass.

Add ice, then top with seltzer water and fresh lime juice.

Stir gently to combine.

Garnish

Fresh mint

Blueberries

Lime slice or wedge
