It all started when one of my favorite creators shared a recipe she’d found on Pinterest. I wasn’t planning to fall in love with it, but I did. These breakfast biscuits have become a household favorite, even after the rocky start my daughter gave them.
When I first made them, she sniffed the air and said, “It smells good, but it looks disgusting—and I’m not eating that.”
Classic Maddie energy.
Of course, she ended up loving them. Now, it’s something we make together.
What You’ll Need
You can keep this recipe as simple or as from-scratch as you’d like.
Biscuits
- Ready-made biscuits from the grocery store, or your favorite homemade dough
Filling
- Scrambled eggs
- Cooked sausage (or your protein of choice)
- Shredded cheese
How We Make Them
- Prepare the filling. Scramble your eggs and cook your sausage. Once done, mix them together in a bowl with cheese.
- Flatten the biscuits. Use a rolling pin to roll each biscuit flat.
- Fill and fold. Spoon some of the egg, sausage, and cheese mixture into the center of each biscuit. Fold and pinch the edges to seal.
- Bake. Follow the baking directions on your biscuit package. Mine baked perfectly at 325°F for 14 minutes.
- Butter and store. As soon as they’re out of the oven, brush the tops with melted butter. Once cool, wrap each one individually in parchment paper and store in a sealed container.
How We Reheat
Each morning, my husband grabs a few, pops them into the air fryer on the toast setting, and in two minutes, breakfast is ready. Warm, fluffy, and just as good as fresh.
Final Thoughts
Recipes like this remind me that simple things can turn into family traditions. It’s not just about the biscuits, it’s about the laughter, the learning, and the “I’m not eating that” moments that turn into “can we make more?”
