I’ve had your fair share of lessons and made a significant amount of investments to improve both personally and professionally. Getting really clear on my goals and focused on growth became the necessity. Focus and success are the driving forces behind how and why I’m launching a climb course for goal diggers. The goal is to grow. I’ve worked with brands of all sizes and noticed an interesting trend. Most brands are struggling with getting started, keeping moving and staying focused. Each of us could use development with foundation, process and flow.
In 2015 I launched my Brown Skin Women members club after years of receiving requests from my subscribers and members. They were looking for support with their own professional growth, so I decided to launch a program which didn’t run as smoothly. I went back to the drawing board to map out what I did know, what I didn’t and what I needed to learn from the experience in order to execute a solid program the next time. My system works for the events I plan, the brands I manage marketing for and even personal goals.
It boiled down to a process of needing to focus on my customers experience, my strengths and weaknesses as a leader, investing (in myself and business), and needing to effectively streamline marketing and branding strategies. I had to make some investments and hone in on what I really was doing, why, for whom, how and when.
I Created A System: CLIMB.
It occurred to me the system I invested so much of myself in to is one everyone, everywhere can benefit from. Whether you own a blog, offer a product or a service, my CLIMB strategy applies to you:
- Customer Support (a strategy that defines a brands customer service and customer experience model)
- Leadership (a strategy that defines a brands leadership type, strengths and weaknesses)
- Investments (a strategy that outlines a brands need for personal and professional development)
- Marketing (a strategy for a brands marketing plan)
- Branding (a strategy for a brands identity and structure)
I took my system out of my head and put it in my Goal Digging Women courses. The video above is the intro to all the videos (what do you think?).
Here is another peak and something I am thrilled to share with you… my brand board.
Welcome to my brand board for Goal Digging Women! which falls under the last letter of CLIMB (Branding). It is ESSENTIAL to have one if you own a business or blog.
A brand board is used to create your virtual and experiential marketing plans and strategies. I created this brand board in Canva and included all the elements I outlined on my planning mood board (how I want my brand to look like and feel). I used it to help me come up with my color scheme and color psychology chart to choose colors that also flowed with my planning mood board.
Why Is A Brand Board So Important?
Let’s say you hire a graphic designer to create a flyer for an upcoming event. There are a few things you will need to provide the so that they can create an image that aligns with your branding. Looking at my brand board a graphic designer will know which fonts, art and colors to use. This way everything matches and flows with my normal brand identity. If I didn’t provide this, they designer wouldn’t know where to begin and could possibly produce results I don’t love.
How To Create A Brand Board?
- You need to define what you brands mission, vision and values are.
- Create your brand keywords based on the brand, vision and values.
- Create elements (fonts, colors, images, etc.) that align with the keywords.
- Add these inspirations and elements to a document similar to the one above and save it for quick and easy reference.
Under the CLIMB (Branding) course I will teach my Goal Diggers how to create their own starting with the most challenge part: outlining mission, vision and values.
