Your event should be warm and inviting, evoking positive vibes, flow and eye catching details.
It’s no secret I have a thing for pretty things! Blame it on my love for color, various prints and shiny things. It’s lived with me my entire life and so it naturally leaks into my professional world.
Decorating for an event is just as special and intimate as decorating inside of your home. It should be warm and inviting, evoking positive vibes, flow and eye catching matching tones in yourself and your guests. More importantly, you may need to do this on a budget (because not everyone can blow hundreds or even thousands on event design budget).
I have a few secret weapons that you should unleash when you need!
I must admit this color is my absolute all time favorite tool.
One I discovered while undergoing my Interior Decorator training. Colors on the opposite end of the color wheel are considered complimentary. So if you’re going with a blue-violet tone it’s compliment is yellow-orange, purples compliment is yellow, and so forth. You can buy a full size wheel or handy purse/pocket mini’s for on-the-go planning.
My next not so secret weapon is…Pinterest! YES please!
This platform is like God’s gift to mankind (not just creative beings!). Even my honey uses it from time to time. I have a bit of my own must try inspirations pinned on my event decor board. Here’s one of my personal favorite DIY (do-it-yourself) pins I found and have used thanks to Pinterest…
I hope you find these tips useful. Enjoy :).
